The holes in the blade allow for more effective mixing of plaster and mortar in a mortar pan. The head is one piece forged from carbon steel, riveted to the steel ferrule. This hoe has a heavy-duty 45.7 cm (18-in.) hardwood handle with a sturdy "D" grip.
